The Last Tempest

This years art show was great. Every year for me during art show time it gets busier and busier. Taking 3 art/tech courses really gets you going back and forth on projects. This year what I liked especially from the video studio screenings was Hoop There It Is: The Rise and Fall, GameBoy and SOOPERHIRO. I liked these movies a lot because they were really funny and I was an extra in GameBoy. :) But my favourite movie at the Art Show would have to be Plug In, Baby. The story line and the acting was great, I loved the IM type subtitles during the movie, in my 3 years at ward I have never seen any movie that has tried that, so this is why I really liked it.

AVATAR and CG Based Emotion

Avatar to me wasn't the best movie, even though the director was known for the other movies he's directed in the past like terminator and true lies. To me Avatar seemed to live on hype rather than real appeal. One thing that did impress me was the computerized emotions from the faces, this for sure wasn't an easy thing to do. Other than the special effects and the CG based emotions, there is nothing really special about this movie, pretty much a typical movie with aliens and humans, and humans come through a struggle with the aliens. This movie wasn't worth 10 dollars to watch in the theatres, but worth a download or 20 bucks to keep collection to watch from time to time. In this video we see a trailer for a parody movie on Avatar and other hit movies.

2009 Video Mash-up

In 2009 many blockbuster films came out. One film that particularly stands out is Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen, many people were still hyped from the first Transformers and anticipated the release of the second transformers and it did not fail to disappoint. On its opening day it grossed $62 million in North America and over $100 million worldwide. This film blew me away because I found it so interesting that when they were filming this, they didn't use any scale models of the robots, basically the actors had to act without the actual robots visually there.

Another thing about this film that blew me away was all the special effects and explosions. Michael Bay did an amazing job in this department. The story of this film was put together well, there was not one moment when I was confused. Another thing that made me enjoy this movie was Megan Fox! :p LOL.

At the video the movies I recognized were Star Trek, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Twilight, Inglorious Basterds, Avatar, Transformers, Fast & Furious, The Proposal, 500 Days of Summer and Up. The reason why I recognized these movies is because I have personally seen the movie or my friends have watched these movies and have talked about it. Each of these films are very different, but they still have the same personal effect on me. Out of this list the movies that I really liked were, Start Trek, Avatar, Transformers, Fast & Furious, The Proposal, 500 Days of Summer and Up.
